Random question: any suggestions on how can I antique the slide buckles?
My dad suggested soaking them in vinegar. If they are of a decent metal and not covered in a paint or lacquer the acid does the antiquing trick within minutes. But these are cheaper ones so they do have a coating. I won't be able to do it before Saturday, but it bugs me enough that before I wear it again I want to try something. Preferably not buying new ones....

My first thought is to use a "wash" of thinned dark paint. But I'm kind of scared of anything that involves paint, so take that advice with a grain of salt!
