College and sewing
Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news....
My GI Bill, or how I like to call it "how I am paying for College" process has been halted. They sent me a letter saying they needed me to fill out more forms and sent me the forms that I need to fill out. The slimy toads. It is the same exact forms I already filled out. What did they do with them???????????????? UGH!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't be so bad I guess if I wasn't paranoid. The forms included my banking info and my DD-214. For non military folk that is my seperation paperwork. Not including bday and social.... UGH!!!! and to top it off if I don't get my reimbursment and payment from them I can take the next term. Don't have those kinds of funds to just throw around. *GRRRRR**** and the finacial aid won't kick in, if I get it, until Term 2... so it is looking like I may be screwed for Term 1.
On the other hand I was able to get some sewing done this weekend. All the cording and gromets has been finished on my corset. *cheer* I am playing around with the muslin to get the sleeves right. That is one of my peeves about my Regency corset right now. The sleeves keep falling off my shoulders. So I want to make some temp sleeves out of musling and baste them on to get the proper shape, size, and placment before I commit. I was also able to finish attaching the sleeves to the chemise. I still have to attach the cuffs but the ends are gathered with a basting stich waiting. I also have to hem the bottom which I am doing by hand. Shouldn't take to long. I was able to hem the neck in one night with no problem.
