There has been much plotting over here, on what to do for costuming in 2012. I want things that will challenge me, how else would I grow? But at the same time I need some things that I will just enjoy. The more I can get out of my stash the better. AND I want to feel like a pretty pretty princess at Costume College. I have costumes that I am proud of by none that really cross into pretty pretty princess.
1930s dress

I already have the pattern for this and the fabric. Woot! I will have to enlarge the pattern quite a bit to fit me though. :( That will be quite a bit of a challenge on my part because the pieces are exactly straight forward. But this will fit into costume college's bonus track and work for during the day as an easy costume to wear and not take up much room.
Finish 1950's Sailor Girl outfit

The skirt for this is already finished. I think I might make another petticoat to go under it though. I want that poof! The top has defeated me though. Made me question my draping and sewing skills. DANG Boobs and their want of support. But I will conquer it... or have a really fun skirt and Store bought blouse with modern bra. :) Again its another day outfit so comfort is key.
19-teens evening gown and all its foundation garments
I have had this in my souper sekrit project list for some time now. And I think the exact gown I am going to attempt for that project will stay there and not be attempted just yet. I don't have the money to get all the supplies to do it justice. But who says I can't make the foundation layers this year. And while I'm at it get some practice in on another dress? There has been so many pretties thrown around though. I can't decide!!!! I think I can want one of like the ones below though. The other styles have so many extra pretties like fun sleeves and what not but I think below is what I want to strive for.

I have fabric in stash that I think would work well with this also. Its a poly but for practice I can live with that.
18c riding habit or could be called something else. Still learning these things....
Haven't decided which exactly yet... but like the looks of these. Second one might be a zone front dress... I like the waist coat look and the over coat or rest of the bodice with the white floofy skirt. I have the two silk taffetas I want to use for the bodice in my stash.

Fancy Sleeping Beauty
Changing this sleeping beauty into the one on the right. I think this will just be fun! and it will give me another use out of this costume. This is not what I meant by I want to be a pretty pretty princess, though I do find it amusing I have plans on doing a princess costume.

There might be a few more thrown in there but that's the plans for now.

And...*dons 18thc hat* the images you have are both of 1780s jackets done in the zone style; the one on the right's from The Duchess (and I loves it very much, yes I does!). A redingote has the skirt open in the front (http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab73/wood242424/inspirational%20images/1770s-1790s/001pt87e.jpg), and a riding habit is generally jacket & skirt (http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab73/wood242424/inspirational%20images/1770s-1790s/reynolds-Ladyworsley-1776.jpg) Hopefully I didn't just make that all up. :P
