May. 25th, 2007 11:42 pmI started the hemp corded corset yesterday. I have sewed about 20 channels in. I know its not even close to enough, but the bobbin thread ran out so I saw it as a good time as any to stop. Only two of the channels have cording in them yet, though. That is tough on the hands! I will probably have to find another way to feed the cord through the channels. My hands, wrists, and the wire I was using will not hold up. I am also using a new method for the groment/eyelet holes. Before I was using eyeles that were only on sided and crimped over the fabric. These ALWAYS fell out. Were rather ugly and ALWAYS need to cover with thread to reinforce them. The new ones I got Have two pieces the crimp into each other. They seem much more stury! I will probably still cover them with thread though. So the world can't see I am completely cheating. Maybe for the final corset, (this is the mock up/fitting corset,) I will attempt to do them by hand with just jumprings.
Well off to bed for me!
