CoCo sum up

I'll have to start out by saying this was probably a close second for Best Costume College yet.
With that said it was still very much a roller coaster ride emotionally for me. I know a ton of it stems from my own anxiety and depression issues so no it was not necessarily anything anyone did. At some point or another I had little break downs because I either felt fat, inadequate, like the unwanted tag along or self conscious. I know a great deal of it is my own mental malfunctions though. I would take things like costume malfunctions as testimony for me sucking as a costumer and not as fate just being a witch.
Enough woe is me and onto the fun stuff!!!!!!!!
I went in a day early so I could go to the beach on Thursday. That was sooooo much fun! This has been something that's been on my bucket list for some time. So I was so happy to be able to do this with others who wouldn't think I was completely bonkers.
This is my favorite picture even if I am not in it. I mean really a Victorian bathing suit would be completely out of place in this pic, but together they all look AWESOME!

I haven't found any of just me in my new Bathing suit. So if anyone sees any let me know. I hope this can be done again. Maybe not every year but again.
Friday I had class all day. I attended the Victorian Corset class. I know how to put together a corset but I was really hoping for some help with getting the perfect fit. I am a Pear shape and it can be hard to fit things for me. Unfortunately the instructor had a hard time fitting me also. So I guess I shouldn't feel to bad, it's not just me.
The Ice Cream Social was in the evening.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy I wore my Sleeping Beauty. I have had the costume a few years and have debated it but never felt it fit well at Costume College. This year there was talks of doing a Disney group and a few gals said they were going to do it so I brought it along. I had a blast. I love when little kids squee when I am in costume and I got that. PLUS I love doing group things. Very Very happy I wore this one. I mean how often do I get to be a Punk Princess and there is someone there to do it too. :)

I attended the Pretty Princess party for the first time this year. That was fun it amused me greatly to pose with the cut out of Aurora in my costume. :) That's another of those if you find this pic please let me know. I didn't stay to long. It is a party where I would need a drink or two to feel completely comfortable and I hadn't eaten so that wouldn't of been extremely smart. But I did get some yummy pizza later.
Saturday was more classes. I wore civies because my planned Gala gown was an epic fail. I decided it would be best for me to just give up on it and start again. Yea it was that epic in the failure department. I am happy I did. Less stress of trying to salvage something I didn't like. So I wore my new Steampunk outfit instead of wearing it during the day like planned. Thanks
eleonoraproject! Hubby came with me to the Gala for the first time... and probably the last. But he did and he talked me out of one of my biggest anxiety attacks of the trip and told me I would always be his pretty pretty princess even if I was a steampunk princess with no tiara.....so I am happy he did.

Sunday I wore my new Edwardian undies down to the Sunday Undies. I was able to join
aviendiora and her hubby, which made me very happy. It has been much to long since we have been able to get together. Isn't her Dr. Who undies soooo cute. Makes me want to make a pair up. I can't wait to finish the leg ruffles on mine and show them off.

I was going to wear my 1930s Beach Pajamas for the rest of the day on Sunday, but the "I feel like a fat toad" feeling became overwhelming so I just wore my bathing suit again. I was able to get a few more pics of it. I still haven't figured out if I like the dang bonnet.

They had that stupid pool party again this year. I find that amusing because none of the participates looked like they were really having any fun. A few in our group was dancing more than they were.

Sunday evening I enjoyed a quiet evening just talking to some other costumers by the fire over dinner. Very relaxing way to close an evening out!
Monday was the fabric tour. I am not sure if I plan to do that anymore. My ankles were done! It took me two days to get back to where I could even walk again. So from now on I think I am just going to go in a car with like minded shoppers. But I did have some good finds!
Yummy silks from Home Fabrics. The purple is telling it wants to be something Victorian and the other Bronzish one 18th century. Both are not enough to do an entire gown out of but I will be able to get the bodice/Jacket/top pieces done and probably with trim. I love the mask I found. I am trying to figure out how I want it incorporate it into a gala gown for next year. Feathers for the win. Can't get by without those! or the Rhinestone belt buckles that will go with my new 18c costume that I just happened to find fabric for.:) I also fell in love with this Sari like fabric. It hasn't told me what it wants to be but I do love it.
I also got tons of really cheap but pretty fabrics and trims for my god-daughter's Pretty-Pretty Princess dress up clothes I am going to be making them for Christmas.

In the end I am so happy I went. Mental Malfunctions and all. I know its something I struggle with and always will. This year was better than last year. No horrid headaches from the stress. I call that a win.
