The other reason is I sold my very first costume last night. One of my Hubby's co workers wants to go to the faire tomorrow with us. It'll be her first time and she wanted to go in costume. Since she is a skinny minny I have nothing that would fit her. Well, that was until remembered the last time I was her size, which reminded me of my first costume.
For the most part this is a good thing. I haven't worn it in over 10 years. After moving to Japan and discovering the online costuming community I realized how 'wrong' it was. Now don't get me wrong. I do enjoy my Farby Ren gear but even that has a historical silhouette for me now. Besides that I seriously doubt it would even fit anymore. I have sold all my other 'first' costumes and the $60 I got out of this one will buy the fabric for a new kirtle. So why is the 16 year old me crying a little about letting this one go?
