My Gala dress is to stage one! Which means I have a pretty (IMHO) plain dress. Snaps are in and I did a blind hand hem stitch to hem it. I have sooo much respect for you all that do most of your sewing by hand. That took me forever!!!!! I kept telling myself that by doing it by hand and the near invisible hem would take it up a level. So if you come up to me that night and say my hem looks great I'll probably hug you!
I have three more 'feathers' to bead and the beading for the front is done. Unfortunately it's outside the hoop so it's going so much slower and my wrist has started to protest. my plan is to break up the beading into chunks despite being so close to done. If my wrist goes everything will stop.
Left to do before coco.
- finish beading
- attach beading to gown
- bead pearl border onto gown
- make and trim the evening cloche
- eyelets on the kirtle
- whip stitch shoulder straps down to proper length
- attach skirts to kirtle bodice
- hem kirtle
- sew fronts closed on waistcoat
- attach trim to waistcoat.
- Adjust tie backs on the Victorian
Ack.... That seems like so much all typed out!
