A fabulous way to start my Summer vacation

I am pretty sure there is no way for me to do a proper recap of my weekend, so I am not going to try. Instead I give you the cliff notes and pics.
girliegirl32786 was a fabulous host and had put so much thought into the weekend. I can happily cross this type of all weekend 'immersion' event off my bucket list.
I made something new for the weekend. I had grand plans of a dressing gown, but for some reason I started getting very overwhelmed at the thought of starting something new during the last bits of school. Fortunately koshka_the_cat had come to my house for faire and was working on her shortgown while she was here. She showed me how easily I could alter my regency base pattern into a shortgown pattern. As it was I was still working on the shortgown up till Friday. Yay for costuming friends who understand last minute sewing.

I wore this outfit to both Saturday and Sunday breakfasts. It's quite comfy and I'm really fond of the color. Sunday I did wear it without stays. I now understand firsthand why everybody screams about wearing the proper undergarments.  Holy cow it makes a difference.
Aubry gave us all tasks to help out for the evening party. So polishing silver and ironing were done after breakfast. In our shortgowns. Well in the begining at least. At some point during the morning we all stripped down to our undies. And like any proper desert rat I ended up outside in my undies, in the rain.

There was also ribbon!!!!! I gave myself an allowance just for this. I am thankful I did. So much pretty ribbon!!!!

The evening meal was yummy. The house and decor plus the candlelight gave everything the proper ambiance. Even playing cards against humanity was made properly Regency by the atmosphere.

Sunday was a slow start but the timing for lunch worked pretty well to be able to sykpe with mlsdesigns. I'm so glad we live in a time we do. With a little imagination she was just an extention of the table. :) Though the reading of the letter she had sent earlier was a highlight of the day for me.

We played parlor games and took pics throughout the day. Complete with a Regency wedgie pic.


gilded_garb even entertained my crazy idea of chasing fire bugs in costume.


Then it was another night of candlelite silliness.

Looks like an incredibly wonderful time! Everyone looks gorgeous. I love the faces some people are making in the pictures. Hilarious!

I do too!!! I am a huge fan of selfies, so if you are ever near me, especially in costume, you must come over and get a selfie with me. :) The goofier the face the better!
