I decided the armhole not matching up was not good enough for this challenge so I went to fix it, and did this.
I cut through the wool, outside fashion, layer. I don't know what to do to fix, or hide it. I don't have time to start over either. Please help lj hive mind. I am so upset oat give up sewing forever... ok maybe not but it will affect any motivation to finish costume college sewing.

Oh no! I'd be upset too. I think you can whipstitch it together, though, using small stitches. It won't be invisible, but it won't be as obvious as you think it is! I know, I've been there.

If whipstitching it together won't work, cover it with trim and put coordinating trim on the other side. You could also do a decorative stitch over it to, and copy that to the other side. Good luck!

Reweaving can be done to patch it nearly invisibly. I haven't had an opportunity to try it myself but googling reweaving brings up plenty of results. Just another option if the others don't work out for you. And you can make a mockup of the cut with scraps of all the layers used so you can try different things to see what you like best and to practice before trying on the real deal.
