If you want to play to just reply and I will come up with 5 questions for you.
1. Is it safe to assume if you are stationed in Japan, getting ready to head to San Diego that the US Navy is at the bottom of it? *smirk*
Yes I served for 5 years. We are still over here because my husband is still in.
2. When are you heading State-side?
I will be coming back in April for Costume Con 2008. I will be coming home to stay in August/ September so my husband can go to school.
3. What got you into costuming?
I would have to say Ren faires started it. I couldn't afford to buy the garb at the faire with my minimum wage job so I got the clever idea to make my own. Yea that was a disaster. Two pieces of garb later, sewn entirely by hand because I got in a fight with the sewing machine, (I had no clue about tension or that broken needles didn't mean the end of the world), I gave up. Luckily for me I had met a good friend and his wife Avien. After bootcamp they met with me a few times to go to the Bristol Ren Faire while I was in school. She made a beautiful middle class outfit that I fell in love with. I had no clue at the time that the Ren faire stuff, though good and always a first love of mine, was not the best. After that I learned a few things about historical accuracy, (you mean the corset doesn't go on the outside of the outfit????) which I am still learning about. I discovered Dress diaries online,  and LJ. Luckily for me Avien is super patient and doesn't mind to much that I ask her a bizillion questions. What is the tension???
4. What do you consider your best talent, sewing wise?
I honestly think of myself as a beginner still.... but if I had to choose... I think my drafting skills and jewlery making skills. I still have a ways to go with both but I am impressed by the fact that a picture , say the Regency gown I made can go from just a picture on paper to a few measurements on a muslin, and with a few tweaks and recutting in the fashion fabric, can look like the orginal picture. I am amazed by that. Half the paper patterns I have used don't even look as good.
5. What is the story behind your user name?
*ROFL* Well... I was introduced to MUDs when I was 14. I had to think up a name on the spot and at the time I was reading a book, which I don't remember the name to now, that had Llyra as the goddess of Joy.  So I choose that and it stuck. My offline friends remembered it easy enough because my middle name is Lee.  The fantasy fae came about when it came time to name my webpage. I am in love with all things fantasy and fairies. Seemed only proper to add it at the end.
