well no... not costume college but my lack of costumes for Costume College. I already knew I wouldn't have any new ones because my main focus on was Comic Con costume. As I have said before I don't get multiple things done because I am such a slow sewer. I was okay with that though because I had back up costumes that would work. Except now I can't find the corset needed to wear them. So I have no costumes to wear :(.
I am trying to stay postive about it because for me being a begininer the main thing is the learning. But I would like to meet new people and being in costume really helps that. Sort of an icebreaker.... *le sigh*

How frustrating!

Can you wear your Comic Con costume?

I hope we get to see more of each other than we did at Costume Con. For me at least, Costume College is way less insane, so I'll have time. I usually spend a lot of time in the little coffee place--it's a great place to see and be seen, really :)

I had considered wearing it. I put TONS of work into it and learned so much while doing it. Unfortunately when I wore it on Sunday it fell victem to being stepped on. The pettis have been torn in several places and there are several footsteps on it. I just don't have enough time to get to the repairs, handwashing, and making it a solid skirt and not a tear away skirt before I leave tomorrow. :(
I am glad you feel the same way! Maybe this time I can get more then a stammered yes out. ;)

I second what Katherine said about wearing your Comic Con costume. There are some truly amazing historical costumes at CoCo, but I'd also love to see some more fantasy/sci-fi costumes in the mix.

It needs some repairs after Comic Con so I won't be able to wear it. I was debaiting it though. I was just scared that it wouldn't fit in. I mean its a Disney princess in all those historical pretties.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm going to be swishing around on Saturday night in a completely-not-at-all-historical gown. And if I remember correctly, one of the costumes on display in the exhibit last year was a recreation of the big wedding gown from Enchanted. In fact, I've heard through the grapevine that the bonus track for next year's CoCo is going to be steampunk precisely because they're trying to include more of the sci-fi/fantasy costumers.

As for the ice breaker thing, I totally hear you on that. I've never been very good at striking up conversations with strangers. All I can really say to that is that if you see me, I'd love to chat with you and have a face to go along with your LJ handle. :)
